Grundy Electric Cooperative offers a rebate program to offset the cost of an Energy Star appliance upgrade. The available rebates are as follows:
- Energy Star Room Air-Conditioner – $50.00 Rebate
- Electric Water Heaters – $50.00 Rebate
- Heat Pump Water Heaters – $500.00 Rebate
- Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) – $750 per ton
- Dual Fuel Residential Heat Pump – $150 per ton
- Mini-Split Heat Pump- $150 per ton
- Replacing Existing GSHP – $150 per ton
- Rebates are limited to eligible services (homes, lake homes, shops, barns, etc) that use more than 6,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity on an annual basis.

Grundy Electric’s Residential Energy Audit Program was designed to provide members with an accurate assessment of the actual energy use in their homes. For a $150.00 fee, GEC’s certified energy consultant Randy Kinnison will complete an on-site, thorough energy audit. If a member implements all audit-designated improvements within 6 months, an incentive of up to 50% of the cost (with a cap of $500) will be paid for the corrective actions from our power supplier, Associated Electric Cooperative. This rebate is limited to eligible services/homes that purchase more than 6,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity on an annual basis. A weatherization rebate form must be completed prior to reimbursement.

This rebate program is offered only to commercial, industrial, and agricultural cooperative business members. Only members with 10 or more fixtures at their installation site will qualify. The rebate amount will be determined prior to installation and calculated based on an audit of existing and replacement lighting. The total rebate amount is limited to $30,000 per member per year.
